Femap Assembly Modeling - by Panso Solutions



Follow the simple steps to create Femap Assembly Modeling.

To import geometry, go to File-Import-Geometry.Select the geometry and click Ok.

To create connections automatically, go to Connect-Automatic.

In "select solids to detect connections" dialog box click select all and click Ok.

Under connection type select face to face, under connection property select glued, leave the rest as default and click ok.

New Connection Regions are created.

We see two Connectors, three connection region and one property created in the model tree by the automatic contact detection.

To create load, click Model-Load-On Surface.

Enter title "Load" and click ok.

Pick the front round surface of the "Plunger" and click ok.

Highlight Force from the selection list.

In Direction section, select Normal to Surface.

Enter "100" in Magnitude field of the Load section and Click OK.

To create constraints, click Model-Constraints-On Surface.

Enter title "Pinned" and click ok.

Pick the 4 surfaces of the rear holes of the "Baselink" and click ok.

Select Pinned - No Translation and Click OK.

Expand the Geometry branch, highlight all of solids.

Click the right mouse button on the highlighted Solids, choose the Tet mesh command.

In "Define Material - ISOTROPIC" dialog box:Load AISI 4340 Steel from library and click Ok. In "Automesh solids" dialogue box: click ok.

The MODEL IS NOW READY TO BE ANALYZED.

Click on Model-Analysis. In "Analysis Set Manager" dialog box: Click New.

Select "36..NX Nastran" from the Analysis Program. Select "1.. Static" from the Analysis Type and click Ok.

Click on Analyze. The Analysis Monitor window will display the status of the solve.

Click View-Select. Choose Deform radio button in Deformed Style section. Choose Contour radio button in Contour Style section. Click Deformed and Contour Data button.

Set Output Sets as NX Nastran Case 1. In Output Vectors, set Deform as Total Translation and Contour as Solid Von Mises Stress and click ok.

We see the deformed model with Solid Von Mises Stress Contour.
